Description

The BD Port Fitting – 1 Tube, Tri-purpose – Single is a Welch Allyn FlexiPort™ blood pressure (BP) accessory designed to connect a single BP cuff tube to compatible devices using a tri-purpose FlexiPort connector. This one-tube port fitting incorporates a tri-purpose connector (#5082-168 style) at one end and a single flexible tube leading to a FlexiPort port adapter at the other, allowing a reusable or disposable Welch Allyn FlexiPort cuff to be connected to a range of professional blood pressure instruments. The design supports quick cuff changes, simplifies inventory by using a universal FlexiPort connection, and maintains a secure, leak-resistant pathway for non-invasive blood pressure measurement in clinical environments.

Usage

Verify that the port fitting is compatible with the Welch Allyn FlexiPort cuffs and blood pressure device to be used.
Inspect the tubing and connectors for cracks, kinks, or visible damage before each use; do not use if damaged.
Attach the FlexiPort port adapter end of the fitting securely to the corresponding FlexiPort connection on the blood pressure cuff.
Connect the tri-purpose connector end to the appropriate port on the blood pressure device, wall aneroid, or monitor, ensuring a firm and leak-free fit.
Confirm that the tubing is not twisted or kinked and that the cuff is correctly positioned on the patient according to clinical guidelines.

Contraindications

Not suitable for use with non-compatible blood pressure systems or devices that do not support the Welch Allyn FlexiPort/tri-purpose connector standard.
Do not use as general-purpose IV, gas or fluid tubing outside its intended use for non-invasive blood pressure measurement.

Adverse Effects
